Terms of Service Grader
A clear grade with what to do next — publish, polish, or rewrite.
- A clear grade tells you exactly what to do next
- Plain-English verdict, not lawyer-speak
- Calibrated for SMBs, not Fortune-500 review
Schools use letter grades because they communicate quickly — A means "I do not need to do anything about this", D means "I am calling the school". Terms of service compliance is the same. Our grader gives your document a clear grade so you know at a glance whether to ship it as is, polish it first, or rewrite. The grade comes with the underlying score (0–100) and the list of specific clauses to fix.
Grounded in real law, not training-data recall.
Publish-ready (90–100)
Ship it as is. No issues worth blocking on. Rare on first audit; usually achievable after one fix pass.
Solid (75–89)
Ship it. A polish pass would help but the document is production-ready as is. Where most outputs land after fixing the structural issues we flag.
Good enough (60–74)
Production-ready for a small business. Address remaining items when convenient. Where most live terms on the web actually score.
Needs work (40–59)
Structural gaps or unenforceable clauses. Address before publishing. Usually a sign that a required disclosure is missing or a "tough" clause is invalid.
Rewrite recommended (under 40)
Either the document is missing most of what it should disclose, or it is so vague that a court could not enforce it. Rare for substantive documents.
What you'll probably see in the report.
Jump from "Needs work" to "Solid" after one fix pass
Common. Most terms are missing 2-3 structural disclosures or have 1-2 unenforceable clauses; once those are fixed, the score jumps 15-25 points.
Stuck in "Good enough" with only minor findings left
You have hit the ceiling for cheap wins. Further improvement requires either deeper restructuring or accepting a lawyer review.
